Explicit interval estimates for prime numbers

چکیده
Using a smoothing function and recent knowledge on the zeros of Riemann zeta-function, we compute pairs $(\Delta,x_0)$ such that for all $x \geq x_0$ there exists at least one prime in interval $(x(1 - \Delta^{-1}), x]$.

Explicit Estimates for the Distribution of Numbers Free of Large Prime Factors
There is a large literature on the asymptotic distribution of numbers free of large prime factors, so-called smooth or friable numbers. But there is very little known about this distribution that is numerically explicit. In this paper we follow the general plan for the saddle point argument of Hildebrand and Tenenbaum, giving explicit and fairly tight intervals in which the true count lies. We ...
متن کاملPrime Slaughter: Playful Prime Numbers
Starting from the difficulty of creating playful representation of domain-specific abstract concepts, this study discusses the design of Prime Slaughter, a computer game aimed at facilitating individual sense-making of abstract mathematical concepts. Specifically the game proposes a transpositionmathematical concepts. Specifically the game proposes a transposition of primality and factorization...
متن کاملA Numerical Bound for Baker's Constant - Some Explicit Estimates for Small Prime Solutions of Linear Equations
proved that there is an absolute constant V > 0 such that the linear equation a 1 p 1 + a 2 p 2 + a 3 p 3 = b has prime solutions p j 's if b (max j a j) V and a j > 0. Apart from the numerical value of V , the bound is sharp. In this manuscript, we obtain a numerical bound for V. We also obtain a numerical bound for the small prime solutions of the above equation if the a j 's are not all of t...
متن کاملEstimates for Wieferich Numbers
We define Wieferich numbers to be those odd integers w ≥ 3 that satisfy the congruence 2φ(w) ≡ 1 (mod w2). It is clear that the distribution of Wieferich numbers is closely related to the distribution of Wieferich primes, and we give some quantitative forms of this statement. We establish several unconditional asymptotic results about Wieferich numbers; analogous results for the set of Wieferic...
متن کاملGaps between Prime Numbers
Let dn = Pn+i ~Pn denote the nth gap in the sequence of primes. We show that for every fixed integer A; and sufficiently large T the set of limit points of the sequence {(dn/logra, ■ • • ,dn+k-i/logn)} in the cube [0, T]k has Lebesgue measure > c(k)Tk, where c(k) is a positive constant depending only on k. This generalizes a result of Ricci and answers a question of Erdös, who had asked to prov...
